The past year has been one of indulgences and dreams, of sweetness and green. That is if you look at the winners of last week’s Canadian Fragrance Awards, hosted by Cosmetics Magazine, which took place last week in Montreal.
The gala celebrates women’s and men’s fragrance launches from the past year and winners are chosen by an expert voting panel, including industry insiders, beauty advisors, media sponsors and our own Deborah Fulsang!
There was Tom Ford’s heady Velvet Orchid, which took home the prize for Best Niche Launch, and Thierry Mugler’s Les Exceptions—a boutique collection of elegant quality spritzes—that won over this year’s judging panel. The green and pretty Dolce from Dolce & Gabbana captured the trophy for Best Full-Market Launch, white the Consumer’s Choice went to the Marc Jacobs for his charming Daisy Dream toilette.
This year was the 10th anniversary of the Canadian Fragrance Awards and, according to Wing Sze Tang, Editor at Cosmetics Magazine, more than 20,000 votes were cast in the two Consumers’ Choice categories. That’s a lot of fragrance lovers!
Next spring, the gala will take place in Toronto. Stay tuned for details.
