Global beauty brand Avon teams up with rock legend Jon…
The best fragrances have an opinionated scent, a great story and a breathtaking bottle.
No wonder we’re smitten with Armani Privé Figuier Eden, the newest fragrance in the Giorgio Armani Les Eaux Collection.
Each of the scents in the Eaux collection takes inspiration from historical and romantic gardens. They are, in the words of the designer himself, “A hymn to nature, a tribute to the legendary gardens.”
There’s Vetiver Babylone, which pays olfactory tribute to King Nebuchadrezzar’s Babylon Gardens (one of the Seven Wonders of the World) with notes of vetiver, citrus and spice; and Rose Alexandrie, which nods to the gardens of Alexandria in Egypt with luxurious notes of rose and citrus.
Now Mr. Armani takes the Mediterranean fig as the perfume starting point for Figuier Eden. In mythology, the fruit is associated with the goddess Athena and its tree grows alongside the olive tree in the Garden of Eden.
In this toilette, a green fig accord delivers juiciness—without any cloying sweetness—and pairs with citrus zest and pink peppercorn. There’s also a near-powder essence delivered by Moroccan iris.
With the addition of warm amber and mineral notes, one might even consider it a fruity floral—but for grownups.
And the beautiful bottle: Its sculptural elegance in glass, meant to evoke the ephemeral light within these legendary gardens, is the ideal flacon for the clean, yet lush and sophisticated spritz that lies within.
