We’re getting into the holiday spirit at Whale & The Rose so sharing our favourite Christmastime smells.
We asked contributing writer Marilisa Racco what the holidays smell like to her and what she hopes to find in her stocking this year.
My favourite holiday scent
Nothing says Christmas to me more than the smell of pine wafting in the air. We’ve always had a real Christmas tree in our house and its fragrance has always felt like a warm hug. Even if I walk into a florist’s shop in the middle of the summer, if I catch a whiff of pine I can feel myself being transported to Christmastime.
I’d love another large Dyptique Baies candle. A friend gave me a black one for my birthday last year and not only does it look hyper cool on my industrial sideboard, but its distinctive scent is so luxurious and sexy.
