As the world tunes into the American election to see who will lead the superpower for another four years, we in the style-obsessed peanut gallery ponder perfume preferences of the political arena’s leading women.
Light-hearted yes, but someone’s gotta do it.
So the incumbent:
The Democrat: Michelle Obama
Style: Elegant and all-American with a taste for prints and experimentation.
Fragrance of Choice: We’ve unearthed repeated reports of Obama’s go-to scent: Creed Love in White. (Orange zest, rice husk, white jasmine, daffodil, magnolia, Bulgarian rose, sandalwood and ambergris.)
Favourite Fashion Labels: Jason Wu, Tory Burch, Diane von Furstenberg, J. Crew, Michael Kors, Preen, Prabal Gurung
The Republican: Ann Romney
Style: Classic, tailored and polished: June Cleaver for a new generation.
Fragrance of Choice: After much digging, we’ve discovered Romney’s favourite blooms: lilacs. That said, no official word on her signature scent.
Favourite Fashion Labels: Reed Krakoff, Oscar de la Renta, Boston designer Alfred Fiandaca
