Scented candles for the autumn

By Deborah Fulsang

Once autumn rolls around, many of us in the northern hemisphere start cocooning. For scent-obsessed types, that means perfuming our homes with fragrant candles, the scent of which, combined with the flickering flames create a most comforting refuge. Smoky notes of woods and spices, in combination with rich, heady florals, warm up the cool-weather moments best. At least for us. (We save the clean fresh fragrances for summer!)

A few of our favourite scented candles:

Diptyque Baies and 34 Boulevard Saint Germain

Vanquish by Byredo

Ernesto by Cire Trudon

Balenciaga L’Essence Candle

Her long-held love of fragrance led her to launch The Whale & The Rose, a destination for all things perfume-related.
